Strategic Initiatives for Youth (SI4Y)

Preventing Cycles of Harm
Strategic Initiatives for Youth (SI4Y) intervenes to prevent cycles of harm, working with 3.5% of youth who are critically at risk of being involved with poverty, violence, or the juvenile justice system.
Through this initiative, we maintain consistent contact with high-risk youth through:
-
Daily access to the church as an alternative to undesirable after-school activities
-
1:1 and small-group mentoring
-
Structured guidance toward education, training, jobs, and leadership
Why this works:
-
High-risk youth will spend their free time in a safe, structured environment
-
See real, life-changing opportunities
-
Surrounded by positive influences and beginning to serve as one for their peers
We are committed to discouraging the self-destructive behaviors of youth, building strong relationships and creating spaces to promote physical, spiritual and emotional healing.
