Unlikely Community Builders is a housing and neighborhood development initiative geared toward creating livable, affordable, and quality rental and housing options in Akron.

Our work combines the restoration of existing homes, the renovation of vacant, distressed, or unsafe properties, and the construction of new housing to ensure a safe and dignified place to call home.

​

The vision goes far beyond housing; we believe that rebuilding communities requires economic renewal as well. Through partnerships that support local businesses, job creation, and workforce development, we are working to restore not only houses but also the stability that make neighborhoods strong.

Target area: The neighborhood around S. Arlington UMC and the neighborhood boxed by Grant St., South St., Brown St., and Archwood Ave. 3.5% of this focus area = 14 houses
